Alkmaar Soap If you've been into a LUSH shop, you probably noticed that our soaps look a lot like blocks of cheese. To confuse people even more we cut our soap on cutting boards, weigh it, and then wrap it in deli paper to be sold. Alkmaar is named after a city in the Netherlands famous for its cheese markets where big rounds of delicious cheeses are sold. This soap doesn't smell like cheese though!
